Last blog we looked at emotional baggage as the cause and weight gain being the symptom. Today we are going to look at imbalances being the cause and weight game being the symptom. Weight mask a lot of problems in the body and holding onto fat is one of the mechanism the body uses to protect and pad itself. If a system is out of balance your body is going react as if you need more nutrients to make up for that imbalance or it will protect the area with fat. We are going to look at 3 imbalances: hormones, structural and yeast.
So let’s start with every ones favorite topic: hormones. Hormones are one of those things that get a bad rap, because we only acknowledge them when they are not working properly. Hormonal imbalance can cause everything from weight fluctuations to paralyzing endometriosis. A balanced hormone system works to regulate the amount of hormones released in the body, but stress, the pill, beauty products, processed foods, and dna can cause this flow to be disrupted. If you have too many or too little of any hormone your body will compensate by decreasing you metabolism, making you hungry or just inflame your body. Inflammation causes the scale to go up and your clothes to fit tighter. Also if your hormones are out of balance sometimes your body will not release waste as it should. Hormonal imbalances can cause weight gain. I know for those of you who know me this will not shock you – but balancing your hormones should be done naturally. Artificially balancing your hormones can make the problems worse even if the systems get better. Not balancing your weight or inflammation. I do want to warn you that this process even when done with a reputable natural practitioner sometimes makes things worse before they get better. Stick with it – it will be worth it.
Structural imbalances can cause weight gain. Structural imbalances cause inflammation and inflammation causes weight gain. For example I have a torn labrum in my hip. When irritated my body inflames this area to protect the bone and joint. This inflammation has mass – and causes the scale to go up. This is going to happen all over your body. This is why a good chiropractor is needed. You can also do things such as self-adjusting yoga. Body alignment is also beneficial for the body to fight many alignments. I also recommend a posture realignment program such as Egoscue.
Ladies do not think about yeast imbalances until they start to have issues. But yeast is a problem for a lot of people. We should have good bacteria in our systems to balance off any bad bacteria or yeast growth. If the bad yeast builds up in our bodies we tend to crave sugar and flour type foods to feed the yeast. And then when we take those foods away we feel foggy and for a lack of a better term yucky. Antibiotics will throw yeast out of balance and so will a diet high in processed foods. You can go on a yeast cleanse. A Candida cleanse is what you are looking for. Also diets such as HCG and Skinny Training that cut out all sugar and starch kill off the bad yeast, because you are not feeding it. Be aware the first few days are tough. You may experience foggy headedness, headaches, lethargic, and major cravings for sugar and bread. Power through and you will see a major difference in the foods you crave.
In the simplest terms imbalance is when things are not balanced. Our bodies are so well designed that systems compensate for each other. So if one thing is out of balance other parts of the body will take over until they come unbalanced. This does not mean that there are no consequences or that your body is able to run at optimal performance. So we need to start balancing things out to sustain weight loss and keep the body working efficiently.
